Shortcuts braves the shave

Shortcuts Software’s staff is planning to ‘brave the shave’ for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave on the 11th of March, with support from Mystique Hairdressing.

The clippers and colour are at the ready as Shortcuts Software employees rally support from friends, families and their colleagues as they prepare to bravely shave and colour their hair to raise vital funds for patients and their families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.

Shortcuts Software’s office manager and coordinator of the event, Tasha Banks, said Shortcuts employees were keen to get behind the event.

“Shortcuts and Mystique Hairdressing are happy to make a contribution to help the Leukaemia Foundation provide patients and their families with care and support ,” Ms Banks said.

“I put a photo up on the notice board of Shortcuts participating in World’s Greatest Shave in 2008.

“It got people interested in participating again; we now have five people participating with an aim to raise $2,000. We asked newly opened Mystique Hairdressing to help with the colouring and shaving to which they readily agreed.” Ms Banks said.

Every hour, someone in Australia is diagnosed with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.

This year, the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland aims to raise $3.5 million from World’s Greatest Shave to enable it to continue to provide practical support services free of charge to patients and their families, including fully furnished accommodation near treatment centres, education, emotional support, transportation and financial assistance.
