Conquering your 8 Top Salon Challenges
By: George Christman
"Following twenty
years of
great success in establishing nationally acclaimed business systems for the auto and dental industries, I was urged by friends in the beauty industry to share this knowledge with them. In response, sixteen years ago, I started Bright Futures as a consulting business that works exclusively with salons and spas. Over that period of time, I've worked on-site with hundreds of salons and their staff and I've determined that everyone has the same challenges and it's through whatever systems a salon has in place as to how they deal with these challenges."
"During my travels, I've been privileged to work with some of the most successful and profitable salons in the industry and have learned the secrets to their successes. It's the sharing of these successes which encouraged me to write my industry best-seller, ''Finding Diamonds."
"Finding Diamonds" is a catalogue of forty short stories depicting situations experienced by my clients during my travels. Each story is followed by bullet points revealing a step-by-step system to keep these challenges from reoccurring. It's a segment of these stories that I will use in my upcoming seminar series in Florida, "Conquering Your 8 Top Salon Challenges".
Many have asked me where the name, "Finding Diamonds" originated. It came from a well-known story about the discovery of the world's largest diamond mine and about the poor dirt farmer who didn't realize the wealth he had at his feet when he sold his farm to seek better opportunities. I use this story often during my talk to emphasize that many solutions we have to our challenges lie at our feet... we just don't recognize them.
In keeping with the format of my book, during my seminar I'll select a story from each of the eight chapters which represent the eight areas of the salon which I feel are the most subject to change: The Desk, Stylist Development, Owner's Responsibility, The Dispensary, Client Communication, Appearance & Décor, Promotions and Retail. Each story represents a challenge which most salons face, and I'll reveal the system established in the salon to keep the challenge from reoccurring. After discussing these challenges, many who have attended this seminar in the past have proclaimed, "It seems like you've already been to my salon!"
Also during my presentation, I'll be introducing a new innovative program called, "Salon Professor", a patent-pending, easy-to-use program designed to assist stylists and management in setting goals by projecting their future income. This can be accomplished in less than five minutes and I'll show how easy it is for everyone to use.
The conclusion of the seminar will feature a Q & A period during which time I'll address individual salon challenges of those attending. This is always interesting as most of these challenges will have already been referenced during my three-hour presentation.
To those in the Florida area on August 31st, September 21st and 28th in Miami, West Palm Beach and Fort Myers, respectively, I look forward to meeting you and for those wishing to know when I'll be in your area, please reference my website,
